National Airline Belavia got a new legal status

Since January, 29 the partner of Minsk National Airport – National Airline Belavia has started its work in a new status – Open Joint Stock Company Airline "Belavia". Anatoly Gusarov was appointed to the position of the Director General.

The order of the State Committee on privatizing of the enterprise was issued on 30 of December 2013. For preparation of the appropriate documentation and the accomplishment of the re-registration procedure one month was given. The document on transformation and assignment is dated January 29, 2014. All the rights and obligations of the Republican Unitary Enterprise National Airline "Belavia" went over to the Open Joint Stock Company "Airline Belavia".

You will remember that RUE "National Airline "Belavia", which became Open Joint Stock Company Airline "Belavia", was created on 5 March 1996. Anatoly Gusarov has been heading it since 24 April 1996.

"Belavia" is the largest air carrier of Belarus; also it is the leading transportation carrier. It is based in Minsk National Airport and operates scheduled flights to the airports of 43 European and Asian countries. It corresponds to the highest international safety standards. Its fleet consists of 22 aircrafts. "Belavia" carried more than 1, 612 thousand passengers in 2013; passenger traffic grew by 25.6 % in comparison with 2012.
