Printer-friendly version

On the fifth of August 2013 National Airport and Etihad Airways celebrate the remarkable date – five years of official cooperation.

Since 2008 Etihad Airways has been performing scheduled flights from Abu Dhabi to Minsk and return. Over period of five years the airline has carried more than 120,000 passengers on the route, 700,000 tons of cargo, and increased services from three flights per week to daily.

Etihad Airways’ President and Chief Executive Officer, James Hogan, said: “Five years ago we made history when we were the first airline from the Gulf region to fly to Belarus. In that time, the Abu Dhabi-Minsk route has gone from strength to strength, being a catalyst for boosting the trade, cultural and leisure ties between the two countries and the wider Gulf region.”

Etihad Airways operates a comfortable two-cabin Airbus A319, ensuring rapid and convenient connectivity over its Abu Dhabi hub to destinations across Africa, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent and Australasia.

Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and one of the youngest airlines of global renown. Though the airline was founded in 2003, it has established itself as the world’s leading airline in just ten years.
